TDP’s Emerging Artist Program
For more than 30 years, TDP has helped talented young musicians from NSW build the skills, confidence and connections to pursue professional careers in music. Our Emerging Artist Program combines high-quality music education, real-world industry experience and personal development, supporting each artist to find their voice and realise their potential.
Open to NSW public school students in Years 9–12, the program is currently offered free of charge, with travel subsidies available to eligible regional and remote students. We welcome singers, singer-songwriters, instrumentalists, bands and musical theatre performers across all genres.
Summer Sounds
Sat 12 Dec, 11 – 3pm
Featuring Imogen Clark (US), with special support from Frankie Johns, join us on The Circuit for a day of songwriting, new connections and live music in the leafy Courtyard of Sydney’s Seymour Centre.
Sign up for a songwriting session (spaces are limited), and pull up a chair at the Songwriters Table, a lunch time drop-in and creative exchange hosted by TDP – share songwriting ideas and techniques, talk to industry professionals, and discover more about TDP. Summer Sounds is a free, all-ages event, proudly supported by SoundNSW.

TDP is now based at the Australian Theatre for Young People on Pier 2/3 in Sydney’s Walsh Bay Arts Precinct — placing young artists at the heart of Australia’s professional creative landscape.
Together with ATYP, we’re creating a home for the next generation of Australian artists to develop, connect and thrive.
