The secret of the Talent Development Project, Australia's most successful entertainment industry training program, was discovered by all of Australia. A 60 minutes story, went to air Sunday 27th September on Channel Nine, revealed the secret, which has helped so many great young artists to enter the entertainment industry. Eg. Human Nature, Paulini, John Foreman, Emma Pask, Felicity Urquhart, Darren Coggan, Travis Collins, The McClymonts, David Harris, Amanda Harrison, Trevor Ashley and Angus & Julia Stone.
The TDP prepares young performers from NSW public schools for a career in the music and entertainment industry. TDP was launched in 1992 and is sponsored by Government (NSW Dept of Education & Training) and private sponsorship (ClubsNSW, Radio 2GB, Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sport & Tourism Youth Foundation, APRA, Sony Music, Sony Foundation Australia and David Jones) and is managed by founder and Artistic Director Mary Lopez AM. The TDP utilises the expertise of top professionals from the entertainment and music industries who give freely of their time and knowledge, to coach and advise these talented young performers.
The 60 minutes story featured the first TDP graduates from 1992 HUMAN NATURE along side 2009 graduates from Deniliquin - NSW rock group The Lincolns (Michael Gorham, Michael Cavanagh, Matthew Savage), plus current TDP student Angel Tupai from Campbelltown Performing Arts High School and the Artistic Director Mary Lopez AM.
