Introducing COWSOUND Music Festival

Huge congratulations to 2013 graduate Benny Nelson who just recently launched his dream project COWSOUND, a contemporary music festival that will make it’s debut in QLD on 15th September 2019.

COWSOUND will be held in Muniganeen, 25 minutes outside Toowoomba and is a festival where punters will be able to camp out overnight while listening to a fantastic line up of bands and performers including Benny and 2014 TDP graduate Jack Rayne.

Only 300 tickets are available and can be purchased through Event Brite.

Brad Cox Debut Album Tour

After winning the 2018 Toyota Star Maker Award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January this year, 2012 graduate Brad Cox is now out on the road on his 5 month, Debut Album Tour.  

With the first show held in his home town of Jindabyne, Brad has been travelling across Australia playing to audiences in NSW, VIC, NT, QLD and the ACT. 

Also supporting Brad on his tour is 2014 TDP graduate Jack Rayne who is opening selected shows throughout August and September.

Professional Teachers Council Award goes to TDP Graduate Scott Ryan!

Congratulations to TDP Graduate Scott Ryan was awarded this month the 2016 Professional Teachers Council (PTC) Outstanding Professional Service Award for his work with music education for students and teachers in regional areas of NSW and his contribution to the Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association. Scott Ryan was presented the award by Professor, Dame Marie Bashir, in the presence of the Minister for Education, Chair of the Board of Studies and the Director-General of The Department of Education.

Scott Ryan wrote to Mary Lopez TDP’s Entertainment and Talent Director thanking Mary for her guiding force and inspiration in his development as a teacher, conductor and contributor to music education in Australia. He wrote “I think back to my days in TDP when you took a massive gamble on me; I can only say that I am eternally grateful that you took a chance. I would not be where I am without you. I’m certain now that I was not destined to be a singer. What I know, is that, with your guidance, mentorship and inspiration I became a conductor and music educator. I wanted to follow in your footsteps. Thank you! I can’t begin to thank you enough for your support, guidance and friendship. You are an inspiration to me. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am without you. You have been and continue to be a dear friend, mentor and idol in my life.”

A HUGE congratulations on this extraordinary achievement. An award such as this which comes from PTC, a very prestigious Organisation, is gold. Scott Ryan is truly recognised as a great musician and educator.

1997 TDP Graduate Nathan Foley takes home the title of Entertainer Of The Year 2016.


Nathan has had vast experience for 26 years on stage & television known primarily for his success as a singer/presenter for 10 years on Channel 9’s   “HI -5” Airing in over 200 Countries World Wide and the mind blowing series looking for the Australia’s next triple threat Singer/Dancer/Actor on Channel 10’s “I WILL SURVIVE” which took him around outback Australia, L.A, Las Vegas & New York to perform.

Nathan is a winner of 3 Logies, 5 Aria awards, and a Helpmann award with Hi-5 for the best live show being the only group to have won 5 consecutive Aria’s in Australia ever.

 Currently Nathan is touring the world as a guest entertainer for the major cruise liners and has recently been nominated as the Top 4 Entertainers out of over 800 entertainers on the Princess line and competed for the “Entertainer Of The Year” in March 2016 taking home the title and Winning “Princess Cruises Entertainer Of The Year for 2016.

TDP Live Audition Bookings 2016

Congratulations on being selected to proceed to a Live Auditions for the 2016 Talent Development Project.

Auditions will take place at The Arts Unit, Lewisham from Wednesday 20 – Friday 22 April. There are five available sessions each day:

  •      8:30am – 11:00am
  •      9:45am – 12:30pm
  •      10:45am – 1:30pm
  •      12:30pm – 3:00pm
  •      1:45pm – 4:15pm

Students will need to attend ONE session on ONE day only.  

All audition sessions run for 2 hours and 30 minutes and students need to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their session starting time. Students must be prepared to attend for the entire session but may be released at any time during the session. Parents are welcome to wait on-site in our waiting room. Alternatively, supervision will be provided for all students until the end of their scheduled audition session.

Below you will find an online booking form for these auditions. There are only 6 to 8 spots available in each audition session. Positions will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis. Once a session is full, it will no longer appear on the booking list below. If your chosen session has no spots left, you will need to choose an alternative time.

To book an audition time, please follow the instructions below:

1. Select an audition date and time in the ‘Booking Bug’ box at the bottom of this page and click ‘BOOK’. 2. Fill in the form. Please ensure that the student name is entered as the ‘First Name’ and ‘Last Name’ (not a parent or teacher name). The email address entered in this step will only be used to confirm the audition time – it can be either a parent, teacher or student email. Click ‘NEXT’. 3. Check the booking details are correct (date and time). 4. Enter your Application Number. This number can be found on the document sent to you advising that you had received an audition in this round. Click ‘CONFIRM’. 5. Your audition time will now be confirmed. You should receive an email (to the address entered in step 2) confirming your audition time. 

PLEASE NOTE: It is not possible to change a time once it has been selected. Please choose a time carefully. If you can no longer make your selected session, please follow the instructions in your confirmation email to cancel your audition booking. You will then need to start the whole process again to book another time.

Roshani Pridis made it to the finalist list in International Song Writing Competition in Nashville!


Australian songwriters continue to make a name for themselves in the Nashville-based annual International Songwriting Competition. 68 acts from around the world will be chosen from various categories. This year there were 18,500 entries, organisers said.  In total 43 Australians made it to the finalists list – of which seven scored multi-nominations. The Blues section has three Australian’s nominated including TDP graduate Roshani Priddis.
